What Are The Parts Of Mechanical In Microscope
What are the parts of mechanical in microscope
Before we identify the mechanical parts, lets first discuss what qualifies as a mechanical part of a microscope. A mechanical part of the microscope should not concern the magnification process, or so to say, magnifying parts are limited only to lenses. Theres also the illuminating parts which allow and adjust the light that goes through the specimen. With all that said, the mechanical parts support the microscope itself and serves as the parts we manipulate when we use the microscope. Now this includes the following:
- Draw tube - this contains the ocular of the microscope
- Arm - acts as the upright support of the microscope which holds the draw tube, objectives, adjustment knobs, and stage
- Adjustment knobs - used to manipulate how high or low the objectives are; fine adjustment for oil and HPO while coarse adjustment for LPO and scanner
- Revolving nosepiece - holds the objectives; can be used to switch objectives; also serves as protection of objectives from dust
- Stage - a plane or square block where the specimen is placed
- Stage clips - fixes the specimen on the stage
- Base - supports the whole microscope, connected to the arm
